Type of pin

Classification of pins

The basic forms of pins are cylindrical pins and taper pins. The cylindrical pin is fixed in the pin hole with slight interference. Multiple assembly and disassembly will reduce the positioning accuracy. The taper pin has a taper of 1:50, which can be self-locking. It is fixed in the pin hole by the conical surface extrusion, with high positioning accuracy, convenient installation, and can be assembled and disassembled for many times.

Selection of pins

The type of pin shall be selected according to the working requirements during use. The diameter of the pin for connection can be determined according to the structural characteristics of the connection and experience, and the strength can be checked when necessary. The positioning pin can be directly determined according to the structure. The length of the pin in each connecting piece is about 1-2 times of its diameter.

The common material for pins is 35 or 45 steel. The materials of safety pins are 35, 45, 50, T8A, T10A, etc. The hardness after heat treatment is 30~36HRC. The pin sleeve materials can be 45, 35SiMn, 40Cr, etc. The hardness after heat treatment is 40~50HRC.
